Invisible Base The hotel is a base for ephemeral living. It offers protection, privacy, seclusion and pleasure, incorporates nature and allows instant connection to the networks of anxiety. Although located in the city-center the base does not have a formal, street façade; it remains invisible, placed behind the city, in the urban blocks void, in the buildings backyard. The base, produced by a 5-meter offset of the backyards outline, is an irregular steel structure volume, wrapped in a continuous metal mesh of fluctuating density. It is made up of units which develop vertically on four levels: entrance, swimming-pool, living space, bedroom, roof-top. On each units front façade, an XL-size elevator-platform that transports a specific programmatic space -garden, gym, spa or childrens room- from level to level specifies each units character: natural, athletic, hedonistic or family. The units translucent glass rear façades are used as projection screens showing TV images, images available at the bases environment-creation database, or even others captured by each units personal telescopic digital camera. This way, an interior vertical iconographic landscape is created that exhibits the personal preferences of the bases residents.
