The Nokia 6303 is a candy-bar shaped mobile phone that is targeting the middle of the market. It measures 108.8 x 46.2 x 11.7 mm and weighs a light 96 grams. It will be available in two colours, namely Black matted or steel silver, and the screen is 2.2 inches. Overall the Nokia 6303 looks and feels solid and has classic Nokia good looks.
There is a built-in music player which will support all the popular music formats such as AAC, AAC, MP3 and MP4. Nokia have included a 3.5mm jack which means you can add your own headphones. An FM Radio is also included.
Camera-wise, it has 3.2 mega pixels, with autofocus and 8 times digital zoom. There is also an LED flash, which although not as good as a Xenon Flash, works very well. This will not necessarily compete with a Sony Ericsson Cybershot phone, but does have some clever camera features like Still shot, video shot, using a timer, and sequence shot. Internal memory is set with 64 mega bytes, but this can be increased by using a MicroSD card.
Internet connection is good and you can use EDGE, Bluetooth or GPRS. All internet formats are supported and the phone is preloaded with the Nokia Mini Browser and Nokia Mobile Search. Applications, apart from the standard ones like a calendar, alarm and to do list, include a handsfree speaker and Nokia Maps.
The Nokia 6303 mobile phone, might not be the most advanced or most unique looking phone in the market, but it supplies exactly what the masses are looking for. That is, classic looks with a modern feel, good internet connection, decent music player and a camera that takes print quality pictures. This is definitely not a niche phone and will appeal to the middle of the market.
