Since merging companies, Sony and Ericsson launched their first mobile phone, the heads of the competition have been constantly looking over their shoulders as the newly founded duet continued to gain market share.
These results are helped in no small part with the outstanding quality of their products from the materials involved through to the new technologies introduced into an ever expanding market place.
Sony's own models never really took off and Ericsson relied on their good name to sell their products, using this combination Sony Ericsson have now proudly released some of the most groundbreaking and sophisticated mobile handsets.
Their latest offering is no different, using high quality materials such as brushed stainless steel and incorporating the highest specification camera technology, the manufacturer has now launched the new Sony Ericsson T650i.
This new handset is one of the slimmest 3G enabled phones available at a mere 13mm deep, it is a candy-bar format design but the top half of the outside casing is manufactured from brushed stainless steel giving the phone an air of class and worth whilst the bottom half of the handset is available in two distinct colors - Midnight Blue and Growing Green.
Sony Ericsson have taken minimalist design a step further by removing the usual etched numbers and letters found on the keys and choosing instead to situate them nest to the buttons they represent, this has allowed them to scale down the size of the keys into small, raised stainless steel circles which blend perfectly with the top half of the phone.
The T650i offers a 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus, photolight, digital zoom and video record and playback as well as a secondary camera for video calling via 3G.
With 3G services present, the user has access to a multitude of new multimedia such as streaming new and sports headlines, the latest music videos, new movie trailers and downloadable content including ringtones, games, wallpapers and themes at broadband speeds.
There is also an embedded music player for creating playlists and uploading music tracks with the added advantage of TrackID, Sony Ericsson's technology that shows the artists name and music track selection whilst listening. Another music feature is the built-in FM Radio ideal for tuning into a favourite radio station and either listening using headphones or sharing via the 3D surround sound speakers.
With all of this technology there is usually a question of storage but the T650i offers a MicroSD card slot for expanding the phones memory as the user saves new music, video, picture and application files.
There are many connectivity options available such as USB for direct transfer to PC and Bluetooth technology for wireless transfer of files with compatibles devices as well as a very useful wireless connection to hands-free car kits for safe and legal driving.
The Sony T650i also features another new technology using a voice recorder allowing the user to record a quick message and either attach it to a text message or send individually via SMS.
Sleek, stylish and feature packed, the Sony Ericsson T650i is a perfect representation of the manufacturers dedication to form and new technology.
