Replacing A Hydraulic Coupler Demonstration - etrailer.com

www.etrailer.com Videos are provided as a guide only. Refer to manufacturer installation instructions and specs for complete information. Today we are going to show you how to replace a hydraulic coupler. In this case this one is damaged and is going to get replaced by a totally different model. First thing we are going to do is actually drain all the fluid from the master cylinder. And what we are actually going to do is open up one of the wheel cylinders and pump our fluid out and into a holding container. All right we will go to the wheel cylinder now and attach a rubber line to the bleeder valve and get our container ready. What we will do is take the cover off our bleeder valve here and we will go ahead and open it up. Okay, here we just take a rubber hose and just slide it on to the bleeder valve itself. All right and then we will just run the other half of the hose into an empty container here and start draining the fluid out of the master cylinder. And so to pump this out what we are going to do is actually we are going to use the actual breakaway lever right here to actually do the work for us. All right we will go ahead and put our cap back on. Then we will go ahead and take off our connection to our master cylinder here. When pumping it dry that will keep the fluid from coming out and ruining the paint. All right and then the next thing we will do is just unbolt our coupler. All right next is we are going to do a quick test on our new coupler. Now we are not ...

5th Airborne Sidewinder Arm Assembly Review - etrailer.com

www.etrailer.com Videos are provided as a guide only. Refer to manufacturer installation instructions and specs for complete information. Today we are going to show you part number 5AS02 from 5th Airborne. This is the 5th Airborne Sidewinder Arm Assembly. And what this part does is basically it replaces the pin box on your fifth-wheel trailer and actually pushes the pivot point back away from the truck, which allows a short-bed pickup to pull a fifth-wheel trailer without the need of a slider assembly. And this can also be used on pickup trucks with less than a 6-foot bed, also. The first component is the Sidewinder arm itself, from here to here. This will actually shove the pivot point from the pin box back toward where the original pin box was on the trailer. This is the actual pivot point right here. And this is where our second component, called a turret, gets bolted onto a trailer itself, and it rotates here. The next component we will show you is actually right here, and that is the heavy-duty shock. And that absorbs road bumps and vibrations, so it will give your trailer a nice, smooth ride. And next, if you follow the air line, on the right-hand side, follow it all the way back until it turns red. And then, as it goes behind a steel plate there, is actually the air bag itself, which cushions the ride, and thus gives its name, the 5th Airborne. And this pivot point right here is where the whole operation hinges on. What happens is that this plate here with the king ...

Review of a Softride QuietRide Tightening Ball Mount - etrailer.com

www.etrailer.comVideos are provided as a guide only. Refer to manufacturer installation instructions and specs for complete information. Today we are going to show you part number SR25733 from Softride. This is their steel Tightening Ball Mount. This part number is for the 2-inch version. This is also available in 4-inch and 6-inch versions, too. A few features of this ball mount are that it comes complete with a wedge and tightening hitch pin to combine for safe and quiet towing. It comes with a stainless steel hitch pin - which is really nice you do not have to worry about corrosion. It comes with a 1-inch shank hole for 1-inch balls. It is rated for Class IV applications with a 1000-pound tongue weight and 10000-pound towing weight. And it actually tightens the ball mount in three directions: front to rear and also up left to right or up and down. Next we will cover some of the features and details and show you how it works. The ball mount comes with a tightening hitch pin, which is this part right here. This is constructed of stainless steel, and it just threads in right here. This bolt tightens up the ball mount against the hitch so it pulls against the hitch, like so. And when the ball mount gets pushed inside of the hitch, this wedge comes up and actually locks everything into position, so it does not move left to right or up and down. Also this hitch pin controls movement from forward to rearward, too, eliminating flop in the hitch that way, also. And then your ...

Roadmaster Falcon 2 All-Terrain Non Binding Tow Bar Review - etrailer.com

www.etrailer.comVideos are provided as a guide only. Refer to manufacturer installation instructions and specs for complete information. Today we are going to show you part number RM-522 from Roadmaster. This is the Roadmaster Falcon all terrain non binding tow bar, rated for 6000 pounds. A couple facts are that it comes with a non binding freedom latch that disconnects the first time every time. It also features an auto lock towing mechanism which allows both tow bars to extend or retract for a quick connection. Also if you drive away the arms will self center and automatically lock themselves together. The use of the stainless steel components allow for smooth and trouble free operation which prevents corrosion that will bind up moving parts. Now we will go ahead and install it in a typical 2 inch receiver hitch and show you some more features it has. This part number does come complete with the base bar and the tow bar itself. Also the base bar itself, the hardware it mounts to on your base plates on your vehicle it does come complete with the hardware to attach to that. Now we will show you a typical application of a tow bar. It has 2 axis of movement. It has up and down and also left to right movement. And we will show you when it is time to disconnect your vehicle from the RV it is pretty simple. First off what you want to do is disconnect it from the base bar itself. And that is pretty simple by just undoing the snap pin here and pulling out the actual pin itself ...
